4-5 Lamb's Court, Newhaven, Edinburgh

4-5 Lamb's Court in Newhaven, Edinburgh, is a building dating from the mid to later 18th century, which was recast and converted by Ian Lindsay & Partners around 1970. It is a 2-storey, 6-bay asymmetrical block that forms the southern boundary of the court, with its rear elevation facing Main Street. The exterior is harled and limewashed, featuring raised and painted concrete surrounds around the openings. There are exterior stairs with timber railings leading to the first floor.

On the north elevation, which serves as the entrance, there is a timber boarded door located in the penultimate bay to the right (No 4), with a storage door beneath the stairs. The first floor has single windows in the bays to the left and in the penultimate bay to the right, while the ground floor features a single window in the outer right bay. Stairs leading to the first floor entry (No 5) are aligned above No 4 and include a timber boarded door flanked by single windows. The remaining bays to the left also contain single windows.

The south elevation, facing Main Street, is a 2-storey, 3-bay structure with a regular arrangement of windows on both floors across all bays. The building features 12-pane timber sash and case windows on both elevations. The roof is covered with grey slate and has precast concrete skews. Harled apex stacks are located at the east and west ends, topped with precast concrete copes and circular cans.
