Description
Marchfield House, located on Hillhouse Road in Edinburgh, was built between 1810 and 1813, reflecting an 18th-century architectural style. The house is two stories tall with attics and features a semi-circular bow at the back. The main front has two windows and a central niche that holds a statue on a pedestal above a small Doric pilastered porch. It has a piend roof, and the attic windows are set within stout chimneys at the gables. There are single-storey set-back wings and additional structures at the rear. A castellated stable block with crow-stepped gables is situated to the south. The main house is harled, while the other structures are white-washed.
