Description

25 and 27 Quality Street in Edinburgh is a classical pair of buildings designed by James Gillespie Graham in 1827. Each building has six bays, with windows on either side of a central door. They are single-storey with a basement, constructed from coursed rubble and featuring Victorian stop chamfers at the dressings. The buildings have tripartite windows with wooden mullions and a piended roof.

The doors are panelled and have plate glass fanlights above them. The front windows have lying-pane glazing, except for the left basement window of No. 25, which has 4-pane glazing. There are end and mutual stacks with cans.

Steps lead up to the principal doors of Nos 23 and 27, which are flanked by spearhead railings. There are plain railings along the street and a double stair leading down to the basement flats situated between the principal steps.
