North Gate-Lodge, Dalmahoy Estate

The North Gate-Lodge at Dalmahoy Estate, designed by Dunn and Findlay in the late 19th century, is a single-storey, three-bay lodge with a gabled, rectangular plan located on the east side of the northern entrance. It is constructed from squared and snecked, stugged sandstone, featuring polished sandstone with chamfered reveals, hoodmoulds, ashlar mullions, and a base course.

On the west elevation, there is an off-centre gabled stone porch to the right, which includes a boarded door with a plate-glass fanlight. To the left of the porch, the gable has a tripartite window, while the bay to the right of the porch contains a single window.

The south elevation features a canted bay with an ashlar half-pitched roof and a square plaque in the gablehead. At the rear, there is a modern flat-roofed rendered addition.

The lodge has 8-pane sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with overhanging eaves that have decorative bargeboards, and a rendered ridge stack.
