Description

1 Abercorn Gardens in Edinburgh is a classical house dating from around 1825, now functioning as a public house. It is a two-storey building with a basement and features a piend roof. The house has a five by three-bay layout and is constructed of ashlar stone, which is channelled at the ground floor, while the rear is made of rubble. There is a dividing band between the ground and first floors, a cill course at the first floor, and both eaves and blocking courses. Stone steps lead up to replacement doors located in the center of the north and east elevations. The building has a regular arrangement of windows.

The windows predominantly feature non-traditional glazing, with some plate glass in the sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slates and has plain stacks.

Surrounding the property is a low boundary wall made of ashlar stone with a coping, located to the north and east. There are plain cast-iron railings leading to the steps.
