Description
52 Main Street in Ratho is a mid-19th century single-storey terraced cottage with a rectangular plan. The exterior features coursed whinstone with dressed sandstone margins and quoins, along with a sandstone eaves band.
On the main elevation, there is a modern door located off-centre to the right, which is accessed by two steps. To the left of the door, there are two windows, and there is a single window on the outer right. The windows are 12-pane sash and case style. The roof is covered with red pantiles and has semi-circular red clay ridge tiles, along with ashlar coping to the skews and a rendered, coped chimney stack.
