9 Windsor Place, Portobello, Edinburgh

9 Windsor Place is an early 19th-century, single-storey, four-bay classical house located in Portobello, Edinburgh. The building features droved ashlar with polished dressings, a harled south side elevation, and bull-faced render on the north side elevation. It has a base course, cornice, and blocking course, with architraved and corniced windows.

The principal elevation faces east and is symmetrical, with a door located in the outer right bay that has glazed upper sections. Each bay contains a window. The rear elevation, facing west, has an unusual set of extensions that are shown on Wood's map from 1824 and are still intact.

The house has 20-pane timber sash and case windows set above the base course. It is topped with a piended grey slate roof, featuring a mix of rendered stacks that are both bull-faced and smooth, along with coped stacks.

The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1994. The boundary wall is made of rubble with coping and has replacement cast-iron railings.
