7 Windsor Place, Portobello, Edinburgh

7 Windsor Place is an early 19th-century classical house that has undergone later alterations and additions. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure, now divided by floor, and is paired with the house at No 5 to the north. The ground floor features channelled polished ashlar, while the first floor is finished in finely droved ashlar; the side elevation is covered in bull-faced render. Architectural details include a base course, a band course, a cill course at the first floor, fluted aprons beneath the first-floor windows, a mutuled cornice, and a blocking course.

The principal elevation is symmetrical, showcasing a deep-set nine-panelled door at the center, with a plate glass rectangular fanlight above it and a window at the first floor. To the left, there is a two-storey bull-faced rendered extension that is set back, featuring a door at ground level (which serves as the entrance to No 7A) and a window at the first floor.

The rear elevation includes an extension at the left bay, as indicated on the map, and another extension is visible at the right bay. The first-floor windows are 12-pane timber sash and case, while the ground floor features plate glass timber sash and case windows. The roof is slate, with coped skews and rendered, coped apex stacks; the extensions at the rear have a piended slate roof.

The interiors were not seen during the last inspection in 1994. The boundary walls are rendered, incorporating pebbles, and topped with coping.
