Description
Braid Burn Bridge, built by Shotts Iron Company in March 1831, is a cast-iron girder skew bridge with an 18-foot span. It features pink sandstone rubble boundary walls and cast-iron beams that are curved in elevation and shaped like an L and an inverted T in cross section. The T-section beams have uniform sized flanges, and there are hardwood sleepers placed between the beams, along with replacement decking.
