Description

The Hospital Footbridge is a narrow, single-span bridge made of cast iron and gritstone, dating from 1811. It features a ramped design with plain vertical railings. On both sides of the supporting girder, there is a stamp that reads "CAST AT BUTTERLEY 1811." Each end of the bridge is finished with an ashlared gritstone pier that has a pyramidal top and a moulded panel on three faces.
