Description
The Shropshire Union Canal Turnover Bridge (Number 26), built around 1830-1833, is a skew-built bridge designed by Telford. It is constructed of brick with a stone band and features brick and stone copings. The bridge has a single elliptical arch with a saw-toothed brick arch ring. The south parapet extends into low, curving wing walls, while the north parapet is slightly cambered and includes piers. There are two iron rope fenders, and the towpath beneath the bridge is paved with brick.
