Description

Curling House, located at Duddingston Manse on Old Church Lane in Edinburgh, was designed by W H Playfair and built between 1823 and 1824. This octagonal, two-storey building served as a meeting house for a curling society and is positioned on the sloping banks of Duddingston Loch. The exterior features lime harled rubble with raised tooled ashlar margins and a deep modillioned cornice. An external stair on the north side leads to a rectangular entrance, with an additional entrance on the south side. The building was restored as a curling museum between 2010 and 2011.

Inside, as observed in 2012, there is a flagstone floor, painted rubble walls, and a stone fire surround.
