Description

Circa 1860. 2-storey, 6-bay symmetrical rectangular-plan double villa. Squared and coursed sandstone rubble with polished dressings. Central double porch; base and blocking courses; deep cornice; raised window surrounds; quoin strips.

S ELEVATION: central entrances; stone porch with detached piers supporting entablature and blocking course; returns blocked-in; stone soffit; pilasters flanking each doorway within; panelled doors; letterbox fanlights. Single windows above and in remaining bays.

E ELEVATION: single window between ground and 1st floors; flat-roofed garage adjoining.

W ELEVATION: single window between ground and 1st floors.

Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate pitched roof; single dormers and canted dormers symmetrically disposed to S; coped gables; 2 corniced wallhead stacks; some original rainwater goods.

INTERIORS: not seen 1990.

Low saddleback walls to street; cast-iron railings at No 56.
