Description
Circa 1860. 2-storey 6-bay asymmetrical gabled double villa with single storey side wings. Cream sandstone, squared and snecked rubble with stugged and droved dressings. Base course; ashlar mullions; exposed rafters; timber brackets. W (FRONT) ELEVATIONS: M-gabled bays at centre with bipartite windows to ground and 1st floor in rectangular projections, blank armorial shields to gablehead. Gabled bay to left with doorway flanked by window to left, panelled door and rectangular plate glass fanlight; single window at 1st floor above. Recessed bay to outer left with curved bay with single window and conical lean-to roof in re-entrant angle. Recessed bay to right of centre bays with modern flat-roofed glazed entrance porch in re-entrant angle; single window at 1st floor above. Recessed bay to outer right. Single storey service wings with replacement picture windows. N AND S ELEVATIONS: gabled with apex stacks; side wings at ground floor; small windows to gableheads.
8-pane timber sash and case windows. Slate roof with lead flashings; 2 apex stacks (see above), 1 central stack. Moulded eaves gutter and gutterheads.
INTERIOR: not seen 1992.
Tall rubble wall with semi-circular coping to rear and sides, low wall to front rising on sloping ground to S, square coped ashlar gatepost to outer left, later gates and railings.
