Description

Early 19th century. 2 adjoining 2-storey 3-bay symmetrical houses, now public house. Coursed rubble, ashlar dressings; base course, projecting cills to windows, eaves band, prominent rusticated quoins.

E ELEVATION: 6-bay; regularly fenestrated; doors in centre bay of each house; glazed door with plate glass fanlight to left, cornice with fluted detail, panel over with shell motif to corners. Cement surround and steps to door to right. 4 slate-hung piend-roofed attic dormers.

N (STARBANK ROAD) ELEVATION: 3-bay. Quatrefoil motif to pedimented gable. Later single storey extension to W with long window.

12-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slates. Stone skews; corniced ashlar stacks (some rebuilt) at ridge with circular cans.
