3, 4, 5 East Broughton Place, Edinburgh

3, 4, 5 East Broughton Place is a four-storey, five-bay tenement built between 1819 and 1820, forming the end of a terrace. The building is constructed of sandstone ashlar with coarsed rubble on the side elevation. It features a band course between the ground and first floors, a mutuled cornice between the second and third floors, and projecting cills at the first and second floors, along with a cornice and blocking course at the top.

The principal elevation has seven bays at the ground level, with timber panelled doors and fanlights set in pilastered and corniced doorpieces at bays two, four, and six, while the remaining bays contain windows. The upper floors display regular fenestration.

The side elevation has windows located centrally on each floor. The building is fitted with timber sash and case windows that have 12-pane glazing, and it is topped with grey slates, gablehead and ridge stacks featuring terracotta cans.

The interior was not seen in 1998. The property is enclosed by low boundary walls topped with ridged ashlar coping and decorative cast-iron railings.
