90, 90A George Street, Edinburgh

90 and 90A George Street in Edinburgh is a late 18th century building that was remodelled in 1847. It is a three-storey structure with an attic and features three bays, serving as an office with a shop on the ground floor. The exterior is finished in painted render. The ground floor is designed as a shop, with a pair of panelled doors on either side of a plate glass three-pane shop window. Above this, there is an entablature and a blocking course adorned with amphorae, although two are missing from the centre. The upper floors have architraved windows, and the building is topped with a cornice that includes a cast-iron frieze, along with a parapet that has four piers and vases. There are three large dormers with pediments on the mansard roof.

The gabled elevation facing the lane is made of painted sandstone and features loading doors at the centre. The windows are made of timber, with twelve fixed panes and a central casement on the first floor, and two panes on the second floor. The roof has ashlar coped skews and stone stacks, covered with grey slates.

Inside, there is a top-lit saloon located at the rear.
