Description

Patrick Wilson, 1837. 3-storey 2-bay former school with Jacobean detailing; single storey extension to rear. Coursed ashlar (coursed rubble to sides and rear). String course between ground and 1st floors. Chamfered surrounds to windows.

W (RAMSAY LANE) ELEVATION: shaped gable with apex chimney and oculus. Corniced chimney stalks to corners. Slightly advanced 3-storey bay to centre with 5-light window to ground and 1st floors (modern glazing); raised panel above with inscription (TOLBOOTH PARISH SCHOOLS MDCCCXXXVII).

E (REAR) ELEVATION: 2-bay gabled rear of main block and pitch-roofed single storey extension with finialled ogee-roofed ventilatoron diaper patterned base.
