3 Ramsay Lane, Edinburgh

3 Ramsay Lane in Edinburgh is a former school building designed by Patrick Wilson in 1837. It is a three-storey, two-bay structure featuring Jacobean detailing, with a single-storey extension at the rear. The main building is constructed of coursed ashlar, while the sides and rear are made of coursed rubble. There is a string course that runs between the ground and first floors, and the windows have chamfered surrounds.

The west elevation facing Ramsay Lane has a shaped gable topped with an apex chimney and an oculus. The corners of the building feature corniced chimney stalks. In the center, there is a slightly advanced three-storey bay with a five-light window on both the ground and first floors, which has modern glazing. Above this window, there is a raised panel with the inscription "TOLBOOTH PARISH SCHOOLS MDCCCXXXVII."

The east elevation at the rear shows a two-bay gabled section of the main block, along with a pitch-roofed single-storey extension that has a finialled ogee-roofed ventilator set on a base with a diaper pattern.
