1, 1A And 2 Ramsay Garden, Edinburgh

3-10 Ramsay Garden is an early 18th-century tenement building, with later alterations by Arthur George Sydney Mitchell and George Wilson in 1894. It is a plain, 3-storey structure with a basement and attic, making it 4 storeys at the rear. The building features a 6-bay facade, composed of three 2-bay blocks, constructed from random rubble with ashlar margins that have been painted, along with cream harled additions to the north and a plain gable to the east.

The south elevation is regularly fenestrated, showcasing timber panelled doors with small-pane glazed fanlights set in moulded, corniced surrounds in the outer left and the second and third bays from the right. Red painted steps lead up to the first-floor doors in the second and third bays from the right, supported by harled walls and adorned with decorative curved wrought-iron railings. The basement area is enclosed with cast-iron railings. The attic features six slate-hung piend-roofed dormers, and there is a carved name "RAMSAY GARDEN" on the outer right.

The north elevation consists of three 2-bay blocks that are irregularly fenestrated, with gabled jettied attics that have small-pane glazing extending into the apex of the gables. There is a glazed door on the left block, and a pentice-roofed single-storey glazed extension with a door on the centre block. The outer left features a single-bay 2-storey oriel at the third and fourth floors, while the centre block has a 2-bay 2-storey oriel. The second bay from the right has a swept-roofed oriel at the third floor. The block on the right is harled.

The original 18th-century building has 12-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows, while the 1894 additions predominantly feature small-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are corniced end stacks with circular cans.
