Dumbiedykes Lodge, Holyrood Park, Edinburgh

Dumbiedykes Lodge is a two-storey, three-bay, L-plan lodge built in 1903, located at the Dumbiedykes entrance to Holyrood Park in Edinburgh. The building features squared and snecked bull-faced pink sandstone with polished red sandstone margins. The entrance elevation faces south and includes a central, single-storey, corniced entrance porch in the re-entrant angle. This porch has a two-leaf timber boarded entrance door with a roll-moulded surround and a date inscription of AD 1903 above it. To the left, there is a gable with a canted bay window at ground level. On the right, a round-arched dormer breaks the eaves and features the inscription ER. At the rear (north), there is a single-storey lean-to.

The lodge predominantly has eight- and twelve-pane timber sash and case windows with horns. The roof is covered with graded green slates, and there are corniced wallhead stacks. The cast iron rainwater goods include decorative hoppers.
