Description
The Burial Ground and former Quaker Meeting Hall in Pleasance, Edinburgh, was built in 1791 by mason Alexander Paterson and wright Thomas Dott. This single-storey, four-bay rectangular building is currently used as a theatre since 2007. It is constructed from coursed pink sandstone rubble with raised ashlar margins, featuring a base course, a moulded eaves course, and long and short ashlar quoins. The round-arched window openings are boarded, and the west elevation has an off-centre, pedimented doorpiece with a two-leaf timber entrance door. The building has a piended roof covered with grey slates and a coped wallhead stack.
