4 Roxburgh Street in Edinburgh is a building dating from around 1800. It is a three-storey and basement structure featuring a 19-bay row of Classical main door and common-stair flats, with entrance platts that extend over the basement. The upper storeys are finished in droved ashlar, with polished ashlar band courses, while the ground and basement levels display chamfered rustication. There is a cill course and a cornice above the first storey. The entrance doors are made of timber and consist of four panels, topped with rectangular fanlights. A decorative metal balcony is present on the first storey, along with small metal railing balconettes on the top storey.

The building predominantly features 12-pane timber sash and case windows, although some windows are blank. The roof is covered with grey slates and has large gable and ridge stacks.

To the east, facing Roxburgh Street, there is a low stone wall topped with spear-headed cast-iron railings that include integral gates.
