27, 28, 29, 30, 31 Drummond Street, Edinburgh

27, 28, 29, 30, and 31 Drummond Street in Edinburgh are a pair of nearly identical traditional tenement blocks built around 1800. Each block has four storeys and a basement, featuring seven bays with two main door dwellings on either side of a central door leading to upper tenements. The buildings have steps that extend over the basement. They are constructed from polished ashlar stone, with channeled rustication at the ground floor of Nos. 32-35. There are band courses between the ground and first floors and between the third and fourth floors, as well as cill courses on the first and second floors. The central stair windows are blind, and some fourth-floor windows have cast-iron balconies.

The windows are timber sash and case with 12-paned glazing. The roofs are slate, with end stacks, coped skews, and skewputs, along with clay cans and cast-iron rainwater goods.
