Description
This is a single span bridge built in 1886 by engineer William Beatson, located over the Water of Leith on West Bowling Green Street in Edinburgh. The bridge features a cobbled road surface and is constructed from bull-faced red sandstone with ashlar voussoirs. It has a brick-lined archivolt and a solid ashlar parapet topped with saddleback coping. The bridge is adorned with distinctive cast-iron railings and decorative lamp standards that include anthemium and foliate brackets. Additionally, there are quadrant walls with terminal piers at Bowling Green Street.
