58 Regent Street, Portobello, Edinburgh

58 Regent Street in Portobello, Edinburgh, is an early 19th-century classical house that has undergone some later alterations. It is a symmetrical single-storey building with three bays, situated on the corner of Straiton Place and Regent Street. The exterior features finely droved ashlar, with squared rendering on the side elevation and the later southwest extension, while the northwest side is constructed of rubble. The house includes a base course, cornice, and blocking course, along with architraved windows.

On the southeast, or principal elevation, there is a panelled door at the center, accessed by three steps, topped with a rectangular plate glass fanlight. Windows are located in the flanking bays, and there is a lower wall height extension to the left with a window. The northeast elevation, facing Straiton Place, has windows at both ends of the wall.

The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass. The roof is piended with grey slate and extends down to the southwest for the extension. There are wallhead rendered stacks with coping located at the northeast and southwest, positioned as they were before the extension.

The interior has not been seen, and the boundary walls are rendered with coping.
