Port Royal Hotel, 37 Marine Road, Port Bannatyne

The Port Royal Hotel, located at 37 Marine Road in Port Bannatyne, is a near-symmetrical, two-storey, four-bay plain classical hotel built in the earlier to mid 19th century. It forms the end of a terrace and features coursed, whitewashed render with painted margins and whitewashed harl on the sides. The building has a raised base course and corniced eaves, with narrow strip quoins, flush cills, and a pilastered door-surround.

On the northwest elevation, which is the entrance, there are steps leading to a replacement two-leaf boarded timber door that is offset to the left of center. Above the door is a corniced doorpiece with a decorative frieze and flanking stylised pilasters. The ground floor has single windows in the remaining bays, while the first floor features regularly-disposed windows.

The windows have replacement two-pane glazing. The roof is covered with graded grey slate and has raised skews, along with replacement rainwater goods. There are coped, whitewashed apex stacks at the northeast and southwest corners, topped with octagonal cans.

The interior was not seen in 1996.
