Description

61, 62, 63 Marine Road in Port Bannatyne is a mid 19th century, asymmetrical, two-storey building with an attic, featuring a five-bay plain classical design that is part of a terrace. The building is subdivided and has entrances at the front for No 63 and at the rear for Nos 61 and 62. It is constructed from harl-pointed random rubble sandstone, with some plastic repairs at the ground level, and has painted margins. The structure includes a raised base course, tooled rubble sandstone quoins, and tooled long and short surrounds to the openings, with flush cills. There is a pedimented pend opening leading to the rear flats.

On the northeast elevation facing Marine Road, there is a timber panelled door located in the penultimate bay on the outer right for No 63, accompanied by a tripartite fanlight. A single window is aligned above this door at the first floor. Both flanking bays feature single windows on each floor, and there are three-light canted dormers above. The outer left bay has a pedimented pend opening, with a single window aligned at the first floor, and the penultimate bay on the outer left also has single windows on both floors, along with a three-light canted dormer above.

The building predominantly features 12-pane timber sash and case windows, with some 6-pane upper and plate-glass lower windows at the first floor, and a uPVC window at the ground level in the penultimate bay on the outer left. The roof is covered with graded grey slate, has raised stone skews, and replacement rainwater goods. There are corniced ridge stacks with various circular cans. The interiors were not seen in 1996.
