41, 42 And 43 Marine Road, Port Bannatyne

41, 42 and 43 Marine Road in Port Bannatyne are mid 19th century, symmetrical, two-storey houses with an attic, forming part of a terrace. The buildings are subdivided and feature a six-bay plain classical design. They are constructed from harl-pointed random rubble sandstone with slightly raised, painted margins. There is a painted base course and a lintel course beneath the moulded eaves. The houses have narrow strip quoins and tooled yellow rubble quoins, with tooled long and short surrounds to the openings and projecting cills. The entrances have chamfered reveals, and No 43 includes a corniced doorpiece.

On the northeast elevation facing Marine Place, there are timber panelled doors in the penultimate bays of the outer left (Nos 41 and 42) and right (No 43), with bipartite and four-pane fanlights respectively. The remaining bays are regularly fenestrated on both floors, featuring a three-light canted dormer slightly off-centre to the left and additional three-light canted dormers in the outer left and right bays.

The windows are timber with six panes in the upper section and plate glass in the lower section. The roof is covered with grey slate, has a raised skew to the northwest, and features rendered ridge and apex stacks with circular cans. The interior was not seen in 1996.
