Former Passenger Terminal Building, Pier Square, Ardrishaig

The Former Passenger Terminal Building in Pier Square, Ardrishaig, was constructed in 1891. It is a single-storey and attic structure with a roughly rectangular plan and features nine bays, a piended roof, and a small clock tower. The exterior is finished in painted rubble with raised cills. The building has nearly identical elevations facing Pier Square and the harbour, each featuring three adjoining passenger through-fares marked 'IN, OUT, OUT'. These through-fares have timber double doors and a central dormer gable above on both sides. The clock tower is topped with a pyramidal roof and a metal weather vane, while the north end includes doors and windows that were part of the former waiting room.

Inside, access to the upper level is via a door at the far south. The first-floor rooms have timber pitch-pine boarding that reaches the ceiling height. The room at the far north contains an original cast iron safe and a wall-mounted desk with a recess above it. There is also a ladder leading up to the working clock mechanism within the tower.

The building features timber-framed glazing and a grey slate roof, with end and ridge stacks and clay cans.
