Description
The statue of William Mackinnon, located at Keil School on Helenslee Road in Kirktonhill, Dumbarton, was created by Charles MacBride and is dated 1899. It features a fine bronze statue of a clothed standing figure, which is positioned on a tall, circular, battered plinth made of polished pale pink granite. The figure has one leg forward and one arm raised to the chest. The plinth is adorned with a decorative bronze band at the base and a bracketed cornice that includes inset bronze panels. The statue is inscribed and stands on a stepped base.
