Description

The Old Watermill at Port An Duin on Gigha dates back to the 18th century. It is a traditional one-plan building situated on a slope, featuring one storey and a loft. The structure is made of rubble and currently has no roof. It includes a segmental arch and a one-storey gabled addition. Notable features include a cast-iron mill-lade and an over-shot wheel. The interior has been gutted, but mill-stones and machinery remain on a grass-grown floor.
