Description
The former corn mill on Milburn Street dates from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is an L-plan building with a single storey and a loft, featuring a later projection on the south side. The structure is raised on a terrace and constructed of painted rubble with large stone quoins. On the west elevation, there is a door with partly roll-moulded jambs, which may include reused stones. Above and to the right of the door, there is a small three-light mullioned window. The north gable end has one modern window, with a hoist and loft door situated above it. The remains of a hoist, including a wheel and kiln, are still in place, and there is a circular section kiln vent in the roof of the rear wing.
