Sandbank, North Shore Street, Campbeltown

Sandbank is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house with a near-symmetrical square plan. The principal front is cement-rendered, lined, and painted, while the side and rear elevations are roughcast. The house features margined windows with projecting cills.

On the southeast elevation facing North Shore Street, the three bays are grouped slightly to the left. There is a glazed timber porch addition at the ground floor in the centre bay, and tripartite windows in the outer bays on the first floor.

The southwest elevation has a blank gable end, while the northeast elevation features a gable end with a window at the first floor on the outer left.

The house has timber sash and case windows, with four panes at the ground floor and twelve panes with four-pane sidelights at the Wyatt windows, along with a modern window in the centre. There is a twelve-pane timber sash and case window on the northeast elevation and a four-panel entrance door. The roof has a purple slate pitch facing North Shore Street and a corrugated sheet finish on the rear pitch, with cast-iron gutters and downpipes. The house also includes piend-roofed, slate-hung canted timber dormers with four-pane timber sash and case windows and plate glass sidelights, as well as broad roughcast and coped apex stacks with circular cans.
