Description
122-126 Murray Street is an early 19th-century, three-storey and attic tenement building that forms part of an irregular terrace. The ground floor features shops with a lined render finish and raised margins.
The principal elevation showcases 19th-century shopfronts. On the left side, there are three bays with a central door and flanking plate glass windows above low stall risers. To the right, there are two bays with a door and window at the extreme right, and a door leading to the upper storeys in the centre, topped with a rectangular two-pane fanlight. The first and second floors are symmetrical, with a stone mullioned tripartite window in the centre on the second floor, while the outer lights are blind. Above this, there is a nepus gable featuring a Venetian window, with the outer lights and a round-arch being blind.
The northeast elevation is adjacent to 118-120 Murray Street, while the southeast elevation adjoins 128 Murray Street. The west elevation is constructed of rubble stone and has irregular fenestration.
The building has timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with a stone-coped skew to the north, and a broad brick gablehead stack to the north, alongside a rendered stack at the nepus.
The interior was not seen in 1997.
