10-12 New Wynd, Montrose

10-12 New Wynd is an earlier 19th century, two-storey and attic, four-bay tenement building with a shop at part of the ground floor. It features painted render, a base course, and plain margins.

The north elevation, which is the principal facade, has a shopfront on the right side at ground level, with a central deep-set doorway flanked by plate glass windows. To the left of the doorway is the original entrance, accessed by a single step, and there are two windows to the left of this entrance. Below the pavement level, there are turn leaf doors leading to a basement entrance. The first floor has four windows, and there are two piended dormers breaking the eaves on the left and right sides.

The west elevation adjoins 8 New Wynd, while the east elevation adjoins 14-18 New Wynd. The building has timber sash and case windows with four-pane glazing and a grey slate roof, featuring brick gablehead stacks on both the east and west sides. The interior was not seen in 1997.
