Description

The gate piers at Brechin Castle are a pair of tall structures located on the central axis of the castle's west frontage. They have a Greek cross plan and feature fluted and banded pilasters on both the west and east sides, adorned with an egg and dart echinus. These piers were likely constructed around 1711.
