Description
The monument and drinking fountain located in Mid Links, Montrose, was built around 1905. It is constructed from polished pink and grey granites and features four circular water basins mounted on circular shafts with square bases. These shafts radiate from a central circular hub, which has projecting blocks, each adorned with a bronze lion spout. Above, columns support a pointed-arch canopy topped with a tapering spirelet. Beneath the canopy is a two-stage circular fountain. The pedestal is inscribed with the words "this portion of Mid Links was laid out at the expense of Wm. M. J. Paton 1905."
