Description
118-120 Murray Street is an early 19th century, two-storey and attic, three-bay terraced L-plan house. The front is rendered while the rear is harled, featuring plain margins.
The east elevation, which is the principal elevation, has a 19th century shopfront at ground level with six bays. There are two windows in the center, with doorways flanking that to the right now blocked as a window. The flanking windows are made of plate glass, and the first floor has lined render with symmetrical fenestration. Above, there are two canted and piended dormers.
The south elevation adjoins 122-126 Murray Street.
The north elevation is adjacent to 108/110 Murray Street on the left, featuring a pend at ground level. To the right, there is a two-bay west wing with a T-plan forestair. There is a boarded doorway beneath the stair on the left, with an entrance door at the first floor above and a window at both the ground and first floors to the right. A later flat-roof attic storey is above.
The west elevation shows a blank gable end of the west wing to the right, with two bays of the front block to the left. There is a blocked window at ground level to the left and a window above it, with a forestair to the right and a boarded door at the first floor. A flat-roof attic storey is also above this elevation.
The building features a variety of replacement windows, a grey slate roof, and a broad brick gablehead stack on the party wall to the north. The interior was not seen in 1997.
