Description

The road bridge at Davidston, Newtyle, was built around 1868 by the contractors Grainger and Grainger from Edinburgh. It features a single-span, round-headed arch that crosses a deep cutting of the former Dundee and Newtyle Railway. The bridge is constructed from bull-faced squared rubble, with rusticated voussoirs and intrados. It has a smooth ashlar impost, a parapet base, and flat coping that has chamfered edges.
