Description
Neuk Farmhouse is a single-storey, L-plan farmhouse built around 1850, which was later made rectangular by the addition of two bays in the late 19th century. A lean-to addition was added to the rear in the late 20th century. The exterior is finished with painted harl and pointed rubble, topped with a slate roof that has a gabled front and a half-piended rear. The farmhouse features margined four-pane sash and case windows on the south and east sides, as well as multipane sash and case windows and casements on the north and west elevations. Decorative bargeboards and deep eaves adorn the three gables at the front.
The west elevation has two elongated octagonal ashlar stacks with moulded caps and tall square bases, while the east elevation features two rebuilt elongated octagonal stacks that are harled. The south elevation has a squat octagonal ashlar stack with a moulded cap and square base at the centre gable, flanked by gables with ball and pyramidal finials. The property also has cast-iron rainwater goods.
On the south elevation, there are three symmetrical bays, with a panelled door and a two-pane fanlight to the left of the centre bay, which is masked by the later lean-to conservatory. A window is located to the right, with additional windows in the flanking bays. The east elevation has a window to the left and a small window to the right. The north elevation features a modern addition in the centre, an eight-lying-pane sash and case window to the left, and two advanced bays to the right with eight-lying-pane casements and a swept roof. The west elevation has a window to the left of the main bay with six lying panes in the bottom sash and six vertical panes in the upper section, along with a six-pane casement in a recessed bay to the left.
The interior does not display any features of particular interest.
