Description
The Bridge of Rora is an early 18th-century or earlier bridge, likely built with some earlier elements. It spans a river and comprises two semi-circular arches over the watercourse itself, alongside two smaller flood arches. The bridge is constructed from squared rubble, which has been pointed with harl. The voussoirs (the wedge-shaped stones forming the arches) of the two south-eastern arches are original, and two-thirds of the intrados (the inner surface of the arch) is also original. The remainder of the intrados was rebuilt during a widening process undertaken around 1860. Historic records describe the bridge as old and dilapidated.
