Description
Millbank House is a large, two-storey house, likely built before 1828. The main part of the house has three windows across the front and is harled with granite details. It features a granite base, a prominent eaves course, and a deeply recessed doorway with a fanlight. Original woodwork is present. The gables each have two windows, and there are two attic windows in each gable. Large, coped chimneys are a notable feature, as is a square stair projection at the rear. A lower, two-storey wing extends from the rear, possibly of earlier construction; its north gable is piended, and the roof sweeps down to a lean-to on the west side. The house is associated with a former woollen mill that closed in 1828; however, no remains of the mill are visible.
