Description
Marnoch School is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay former schoolhouse that features a harled exterior with ashlar margins.
On the southeast elevation, there is a central door framed by pilastered jambs and a strip fanlight. Flanking the door are windows at the ground floor, with three smaller windows located just below the eaves on the first floor. The east gable has a window on each floor, while the west gable is blind. At the rear, there is a single-storey service wing that is set at right angles to the main building.
The schoolhouse has sash and case windows with a four-pane glazing pattern, where the lower sash has sixteen panes. The roof is covered with grey slates, featuring ashlar coped skews and ridge, along with corniced stacks that have decorative cans. In front of the building, there is a low rubble retaining wall for the garden, complemented by railings and gatepiers on the east side.
