Description
The summerhouse in the walled garden of Ardmeallie House dates back to the 18th century and measures approximately 30 meters by 40 meters. It is constructed from harl-pointed rubble and features a pyramidal roof with a rectangular plan. The Gothick summerhouse is integrated into the north wall and includes a door at the ground floor and pointed arched windows on the first floor. The roof is covered with red pantiles, and there is a lean-to potting shed at the rear.
Additionally, there is a detached sundial made of copper, which has an inscription and a gnomon crafted from interlocking circular copper strips that form a hollow globe. This sundial is reset on a granite pedestal.
