Description
The Ship Hotel is an early 19th century terrace of three two-storey sections, originally comprising nine bays, designed as a hotel. It’s built of squared snecked rubble with stugged dressings. The centre section features a pilastered doorpiece with cusped decoration. Boarded doors are centrally positioned in the end blocks. The windows are 2-pane sash and case style. The roof is slate, with straight skews and brick stacks at either end. A small attic light is located in the west gable. There are two windows in the west gable. A hotel was present on the site by the mid-19th century, and it's likely that at least part of the terrace has always functioned as an inn.
