Description
The Walled Garden at Forglen House dates from the late 19th century and is almost square in shape, measuring approximately 15 by 15 meters. It is divided by an east-west wall and constructed from ashlar-coped rubble whinstone, standing about 3 meters high. On the outer side of the northern wall, there are lean-to rubble potting sheds, while the inner side features lean-to greenhouses. In the center of the dividing wall, there is a round-arched gateway made from Turriff sandstone ashlar, which has a moulded surround, a keystone, flanking pilasters, and a cornice. To the south, there are cast and wrought-iron gates.
