Description
Crossbrae Cottage is a mid-19th century, single-storey and attic, three-bay estate cottage that features a later porch. The building is harled and has Turriff sandstone margins. In the center, there is a four-panelled door with a letterbox strip fanlight. The later wooden gabled porch addition has decorative, scrolled barge boards and is supported by tree trunk columns, which are painted. On the ground floor, there are windows flanking the door, while the attic has two canted tripartite dormers in the outer bays, each with piended roofs and a skylight in the center. The cottage has sash and case windows with a four-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, featuring ashlar coped skews and stacks, with some decorative cans.
