Description
The dovecot at Forglen House dates back to the early 19th century. It is a two-stage brick structure with a square plan and a pyramidal roof. The exterior is harled and features Turriff sandstone margins, a thin stone alighting ledge, a decorative brick frieze, and an eaves course. There is a door on the south side, along with a rat course and an ashlar panel that has three flight holes above it; a similar panel is found on the west elevation. The roof has been renewed and is slated, although the cast-iron finial is missing.
Inside, the dovecot is lined with brick nests.
