Description
The lodge at Blairs College, built around 1900, is likely designed by Ellis and Wilson. It is a single-storey structure with a roughly L-shaped plan, constructed from stugged and pinned granite ashlar featuring finely tooled dressings. A timber porch is located in the re-entrant angle of the building. The northern side has canted windows, all of which are sash and case with plate glass glazing. The roof is piended and covered with slate, complemented by plain stacks.
The gatepiers consist of two tall granite piers that have a banded effect with rubble and tooled margins on each stone, topped with a cornice and bold mitre-like caps. There are low quadrant walls and short outer piers flanking the entrance.
