Description
Anvil Cottage, located on Bridge Street in Fordyce Village, dates from the early 19th century and may include elements from an earlier building. It is a single-storey, three-bay cottage constructed of whitewashed rubble. The central entrance is obscured by a later lean-to porch that has a side entrance. The rear elevation, which faces the road, features three windows with varied glazing. The cottage has coped end stacks and a slate roof that includes loft roof lights. Additionally, there are various outbuildings positioned at right angles to the west gable, connected to the cottage by a substantial lean-to addition.
